For some reason, I was drawn to a strictly instrumental selection today, "Bach's Ich ruf zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ." I happened across a number of beautiful settings—an orchestral version (thanks to Stokowski), a pair of performances from Yo-Yo Ma (here and here), and an organ interpretation (that will always make me think of Artemeiv's haunting score for Tarkovsky's Solaris)—but the one that I always find myself embracing is the piano version, such as this one. (The full playlist is HERE, for those who might want to catch up.)
